{"id":5,"date":"2023-10-10T13:46:17","date_gmt":"2023-10-10T13:46:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/marcoferrigno.net\/?page_id=5"},"modified":"2024-05-15T15:04:24","modified_gmt":"2024-05-15T15:04:24","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/marcoferrigno.net\/it\/about\/","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hi, this is Marco, welcome on my pages \ud83d\ude42 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;m a <strong>Senior IT Systems Engineer<\/strong> with a focus on Linux architecture, security, and maintenance.<br>My passion for <strong>GNU\/Linux <\/strong>began in the late &#8217;90s, a passion that later led me to join the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nalug.tech\/\">NaLUG (Naples Linux Users Group)<\/a><\/strong>. <br>With the team we contributed to the creation of the <strong>Neapolitan Observatory on Open Source<\/strong>, aimed at facilitating the transition to open source software in the public administrations of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Naples\">Naples<\/a><\/strong> (my city \u2665). <br>We currently carry out a series of events to disseminate and sharing knowledge in free\/libre technologies and digital freedoms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From 2009 to 2015, I made contributions to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.debian.org\/\"><strong>Debian GNU\/Linux<\/strong> <\/a>distribution. In those years I was a member of the<a href=\"https:\/\/community.icttf.org\/\"> <strong>International Cyber Threat Task Force<\/strong><\/a>. Subsequently, until 2017, I held the role of <strong>IT Infrastructure Engineer and IT Security Manager <\/strong>for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/programmailfuturo.it\/\">Programma il Futuro<\/a><\/strong> project, an initiative of the <strong>Ministry of Education, University and Research<\/strong> and the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.consorzio-cini.it\/index.php\/it\/\">National Inter-university Consortium for IT<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since 2015, I have been an early adopter of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sailfishos.org\/\">SailfishOS<\/a><\/strong> and have been a digital supporter in the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/transparency\/expert-groups-register\/screen\/expert-groups\/consult?lang=en&amp;do=groupDetail.groupDetail&amp;groupID=2796\">Digital Champions association<\/a><\/strong>, a role defined by the <strong>European Union<\/strong> to promote innovation. In that year I dedicated to cloud computing as <strong>AWS System Administrator<\/strong> and, subsequently, I have been working as engineer specializing in <strong>DevSecOps<\/strong> and <strong>IaaC<\/strong> paradigm according to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/landscape.cncf.io\/\">CNCF technologies<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2020, I implemented an <strong>automatic infrastructure deployment system<\/strong> (based on <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ansible.com\/\">Ansible<\/a><\/strong>) that reduced deployment times by 90%. The solution is currently in production and I am carrying out further developments improving the functionality and introducing the use of <strong>blockchain<\/strong> to track the most critical parts of the release process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2021 I was invited to participate in the <strong>European Commission<\/strong> meeting about &#8220;<strong>Sharing and reusing IT solutions<\/strong>&#8221; at the <strong>Directorate General for Informatics<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Beyond my work, I pursue interests related to <strong>automotive<\/strong>, <strong>energy<\/strong> and <strong>economics<\/strong> and how open source (particularly <a href=\"https:\/\/bitcoin.org\/en\/\"><strong>bitcoin<\/strong><\/a>) can have an impact. <br>In meantime, I continue to be active in the <strong>opensource\/free software community<\/strong> as a wiki editor and speaker, participating in events to promote digital knowledge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That&#8217;s all for now, folks \ud83d\ude42<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi, this is Marco, welcome on my pages \ud83d\ude42 I&#8217;m a Senior IT Systems Engineer with a focus on Linux architecture, security, and maintenance.My passion for GNU\/Linux began in the late &#8217;90s, a passion that later led me to join the NaLUG (Naples Linux Users Group).
